Tracking boxing and MMA skills so fighters see real progress

Strength coaches can point to heavier lifts. Fight coaches usually rely on memory and feel. A consistent skill rating gives fighters the same clear picture of where they stand.
Use one scale for every skill
- 1 — Beginner: the basic shape isn't there yet.
- 2 — Developing: correct in drills, breaks down under pressure.
- 3 — Competent: reliable in sparring at moderate pace.
- 4 — Strong: a weapon the fighter looks for.
- 5 — Excellent: works against skilled opposition.
Rate on a rhythm
Re-rate key skills every two to four weeks, tag each one as a strength, a weakness or a focus area, and add a one-line note. Over a camp the trend tells the story better than any single session.
